If people don't laugh at my funeral, I won't have lived a good enough life. I want them to reminisce about me, "Remember when Dan did that?" and share a chuckle. If that doesn't happen it will all have been for nothing.

at a funeral, you should laugh and not cry. that is the way we want to be remembered. I thank John Cleese for giving Grahm the perfect sendoff. Farewell and amen, Grahm Chapman. We will miss you.

i want my eulogy to be like that... I told my sister to be as "honest" as possible. I dont to hear "oh, she was a sweet person", "she would help the family" kind of shit...

Top way to send a friend off. and to help the berived at the service to begin laughing without hidden sadness again. What a skill Cleese has.

It's funny, I thought he died of AIDs, not cancer. Well not that funny. Pretty grim to be honest.

It's so obvious that he's close to tears. One really must hand it to him for keeping in all that sorrow like that.

Michael Palin looks like he was truly grieving.

Oh ok; that explains why he was wheelchair-bound and went for physical therapy sessions of movement as depicted in another video. PS: Loved his optimism when he said he'd make the switch from wheelchair to crutches to walking sticks and then "throw away the walking sticks...and play Squash!" That pretty much mirrors my own growing years. (Was born in '68 with Cerebral Palsy and doctors in Russia told my family that I'd never walk. Everything I do, every day I live, I prove them wrong.)
