all i can say from personal experience is that tai chi does work, it's a long road..... but the upside is that you can integrate it with your style of martial arts the moment you start practicing tai chi.... if you've tried training in tai chi and you've never experienced anything like this, then you need a better teacher..... they are out there, and no, they're not always chinese!

you should try taiji. it seems fake before you try that. what this master do is really nothing. you'll find by yourself what I mean if you'll try that with a master of taiji.

Well empty force is bullshit. Everyone knows that, what this old man is doing is not bullshit, but not practical in any sort of way. The man can has mastered internal movement and unsetlling someones center by barely touching and pushing on them. it is possible, but mostly among older dying men who can't use physical strength so their internal movement is refined.

I think you completely miss the point. The demo here only shows he has certain body mechanics which is important in a real fighting situation. The correct question to ask would be: Can I repeat what he did with such a small movement?

it's not fake, the more resistance the more powerfull the issue is. a strong non compliant partner would be thrown further. You cannot say a thing is fake just because you don't understand it. find a master and test for yourself.

This force is called Ling kong jin, it's developed in Taiji and some types of Qigong, and it does not matter how you stand, in mabu or gongbu, he just directs his energy into you through any of your channels, and you lose control, and then, after you lose control/balance, he sends you away or down. There are also other types of energy, such as Lei qi (search for John Chang)

I understand the basic idea behind power generation in kungfu. This appears fake to me. You tell me, if a strong non-compliant partner were on the receiving end of the master's pushing hands, would he fly back 10 feet like these guys in the video? These guys stand with feet parallel facing the master without a good base (horse stance). They stand that way so the master can push them over easily. They also purposely jump back further than they have to.

if you do not understand you should not make false assumptions or accusations. There are many such masters in China? You doubt? Come and see.

I must agree with you,but I personally like to keep the door open.Pls. have a look at the Dr. Yeung clips in my favorites for some truly amazing/unbelievable use of empty force.Like the old saying goes: Trust in god but keep your camel tied to the post :)

i love kungfu and i love taichi but i do not understand things like this. this looks fake to me. yes the master said his jin came from his back, which is biomechanially the right way to emit maximal force. But it seems obvious to me all his partners jumped back to make the master look good. why do Chinese people persist in perpetuating kungfu/chi myths? It is irrational thinking like this that makes TCMA look bad and gives TCM the aura of quackery. Train hard and keep it real.
