there are a lot of discrepancies between the book and what is said here from kuk. the shooting of the guys in the van; here he says a couple of vans and a .357, but in the book its one van and a .38. guess you have to keep in mind the time since it happened and the fact that he is HEAVILY medicated here; anti-psychotics, valium, anti-depressants, etc. apparently over a dozen pills a day to keep him under control; probably the only reason he was allowed to do this interview without handcuffs.

Just to back up what thehype04 said.... He got his own gun out of his trunk and stood there whilst they stopped, got out of their van and walked towards him even though he said he had the .357 in open view. Either they were stupid or they had bad eyesight. I've just finished reading the "Iceman" book and I couldnt put it down. Its a must read if you like true crime books.
