What a lovely recording of a movie tune by a fellow student of Heifetz. They studied same time, and had N.Y debuts near same time. Some were fans of the "angel" and others, the "devil" - can you guess which violinist had which nickname? Of great interest is a live performance of the same tune by Heifetz. There are differences of course, but the tones are very similar, no? the vibrato, no?

What beautiful sound and emotional impact! I just love this kind of old fashioned playing and this kind of piece.

o m g...when i first heard it i thought it was heifetz! seidel has a really similar playing style!

My father told me that during the 1930s Toscha Seidel had a weekly national radio program, which obviously he never missed. Can you imagine that today?
