Hey bud, I've always understood it as a bass walkdown from C, which would make it the B bass in a Gsus. That's always made the most sense to me, because he also uses the Gsus without the B in the bridge (Gsus-no 3rd), rather than saying the chord is altered.

It's really quite simple actually, Capo 4 in this instance, but his original is in Capo 3. The chords used are C Am F and a type of B, basically use the shape of Am then take away your middle and ring finger and put the middle on the 2nd fret of the 5th string. That chord is used going from the verse to the chorus, and in the chorus. In the bridge it gets altered, add your ring finger to the 3rd fret of the 6th string. To do the riff play around with your middle finger on the C and F.
