Awesome singing by Rafi Saab. He had to more than compensate for Pradeep Kumar's lack of acting skills.

Yest, Mohammad Rafi had a great role to play in the success of this song. The role of Mohammad Rafi is unforgettable. Thank you for reminding me my mistake.

You seem to have forgotten the artist that made the song it is: The one and only: The Immortal Mohammed Rafi! I do hope that was not done on purpose.

yet SRK who is of the current era and well into his 40s does "young roles"!!

Yet audiences did not feel in any way disappointed or chagrined at this, since the 'oldies'had come from their days of 'youngies' and the fans always saw them as young & well-fitted to their roles.Youth does not sizzle because of smoking, drinking, putting up brave faces, insolent, making curt and impolite utterances, and the like,as though they are necessary and sufficient for the essence of youth and its depiction. Today's youth is weak, unstable, frivolous, one major reason being their cine idols.

This was the dark era of Indian films when oldies clung on to young roles, the only saving grace was the excellent lyrics by great poets and soulful rendition by good singers.

Song picturised beautifully on Pradeep Kumar, Meena Kumari, Ashok Kumar and Shashikala. Music by Roshan and lyrics by Majrooh Sultanpuri. All this artists have made this song imortal.
