there is a video of his body lotioning while giving an interview prior to the Sakuraba match. Akiyama said he didn't know the rules, just as Misaki said he didn't know his soccer kick so close to the ground when Akiyama was down would turn out to be illegal. Since Akiyama so casually applied the lotion in front of the camera while he was giving an interview, it's obvious that he wasn't trying to hide anything.

I understand putting lotion is against the rule. But looking at video, I don't think it has big impact on Sakuraba to lose the game. Still rule is rule and Akiyama should've known better. I hope for rematch...

Yoshihiro said on an interview that he was suspended and were not allowed to play for 10 months because of this. But he didn't know that he couldn't use the lotion in this league

xenophobia, and racism are two words that have vvery subjective meaning to the people that use them, so much that everyone thinks they know what they mean and, give a bog "oooo" when someone is accused, but it's little more than an emotional slam.

The problem with the lotion is that it is not noticeable when dried. It is sweat from the body that moistens the lotion back to semi-original state. And Akiyama hardly ever comes into the ring properly warmed up with a good sweat. Not saying he's cheating, just why it was overlooked. Akiyama doesn't seem like the type to fight like that.
