A White House proposal aimed at rescuing Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac may end up helping strapped homeowners, too. Lawmakers could vote as early as Friday on a bill that would let the government lend support to the mortgage giants AND allow homeowners to get new, cheaper loans instead of losing their homes to foreclosure.++ The husband of a Fort Bragg Army nurse is expected in court later today on murder and arson charges. Holly Wimunc's (WY-MUNK) body was found outside of Camp Lejeune...just 3 days after a suspicious fire at her home in Fayetteville. Authorities say someone had tried to burn her body.++The New Yorker is getting a lot of heat for the cover art on its latest issue.The magazine's editor is defending it as satire. The Obama campaign has called it tasteless and offensive.++The Federal Aviation Administration is looking at ways to make airport runways safer. That move comes after two near-misses in less than a week between planes at J-F-K airport in New York. One proposal they're considering-- the installation of traffic lights.
