Araneus Mountain Spider on the Orb ヤマオニグモ♀
BackThis is a big adult female of the orb weaver (Araneus uyemurai, family Araneidae). She had prepared an escape route from the orb. Mid-July 2008 in Japan. 雨上がりは水滴が付着して網の構造が見易いです。たまたま眼前で円網に何か獲物がかかったのですが逃げられたようです（映像なし）。主のヤマオニグモ♀は壊れた網を修繕しながら脱糞し、こしき（円網の中央部）で身繕いしながら休みます。歩脚で網を引き締めて次の獲物を待機。撮影中のカメラがどこか網に触れてしまったのか、急に縦糸を伝って逃げ出しました。木の葉を隠れ家としているようです。葉裏に潜伏中も常に歩脚の一本は糸に触れています。
