flexible display by eink at siggraph 2007

Back

this is a brief video showing the eink flexible grayscale reflective display at siggraph 2007 in san diego. the display uses electronic ink, consisting of microscopic two-tone spheres that are polarized so that a current can flip them from white to black. when the screen receives no power, it keeps the last image it had displayed for several months. the display works in sunlight since it is reflective, and the new generation of thin-film transistors used to drive the display is thin and flexible enough for the screen to be rolled up around a thin rod. leo.media.mit.edu
