BackASSEN - De oorsprong van de Highland-games ligt in Schotland. Daarvoor moeten we vierduizend jaar terug in de tijd. Ook toen deden ze aan steenslingeren en boomstam werpen. De winnaars van alle onderdelen werden toen de lijfwachten van de leiders. Tegewoordig zijn er in jaarlijks tweehonderd highlandgames in Schotland. Maar ook in Nederland hebben we onze eigen competitie. En afgelopen zaterdag streek het gezelschap in Assen neer.
