Tornado Fury Up Close

*I did not film this tornado, it was filmed by a man named Gary Kays* This is a video of a tornado that occurred near Fritch, Texas on June 27, 1992. The man filming it gets zapped by a nearby bolt of lightning, yet continues to record the destruction occurring in front of him. Part of that destruction is a mobile home to his left being completely destroyed. At the end of the video the man is knocked down when his window is blown out by the winds. Here's a brief description of the tornado outbreak that produced this twister from http://www.intellicast.com/Almanac/SouthCentral/June/ A supercell thunderstorm produced 5 tornadoes over Hutchinson, Carson, and Moore Counties in Texas, including a F4 which did 35.4 million dollars in damage as it tore through Fritch. A resident of Fritch videotaped as the huge multiple tornado approached, and kept the tape rolling until the tornado was practically on top of him. He survived, with the tape intact. The tape showed one of the most graphic and breathtaking displays of tornadic devastation ever recorded. This video had some rather dark areas so I brightened it up a bit to make it easier to see. You may have seen this video on TLC back in I believe it was 1999 when TLC actually was a "learning channel" and not the crap fest it is today. They did make this particular tornado video lame though when they thought it would be cool to put in a crudely drawn lightning bolt at the point where the guy gets zapped. I used to have it on tape but unfortunately I recorded over it or I would have included that for the lameness factor.
