Sepúlveda, municipio y villade la provincia de Segovia
BackSepúlveda, municipio y villade la provincia de Segovia, Comunidad Autónoma de Castilla y león, (España). En su término se encuentra parte del Parque Natural de las Hoces del Río Duratón y en la localidad está el Centro de Interpretación de las Hoces del Duratón (sito en la Iglesia de Santiago) en el que se puede ver todo lo relacionado con el Parque Natural y con Sepúlveda. El municipio contiene los siguientes núcleos de población: * Sepúlveda, "capital" del municipio. * Aldehuela * Castrillo de Sepúlveda * Consuegra de Murera * Duratón * Hinojosas del Cerro * Perorrubio * Tanarro * Vellosillo * Villar de Sobrepeña * Villaseca Sepúlveda pertenece a la comarca de la Villa y Tierra de Sepúlveda. Está a 58 km de Segovia capital, 120 de Madrid (por la A-1) y a 110 de Valladolid. * Fiesta de Los Fueros El tercer domingo de julio se celebra "La Fiesta de Los Fueros", que incluyen representaciones teatrales, engalanamiento de las calles y plazas con estandartes, mercado medieval, iluminación de la Villa con antorchas, etc.). Conmemora el Fuero otorgado a la Villa por el conde Fernán González (confirmado por Alfonso VI de Castilla en el año 1076). * El Diablillo El 23 de agosto (día de San Bartolomé) se celebra "El Diablillo" que es único en toda España (a las 22.00 de la noche se apagan las luces de la villa y salen mozos disfrazados de Diablillos con luces rojas dando "escobazos" al gentío para recordar que según la tradición es la única noche del año en que San Bartolomé deja correr a sus anchas al Diablillo). Los santos toros: El último fin de semana de agosto (de jueves a lunes) se celebran las fiestas conocidas como la de "Los Santos Toros" -Lo decia así un sacerdote de la villa- en las que destacan las Peñas que tienen sus locales en cuevas naturales (con encierros de toros y novillos, con encierros de toros infantiles inofensivos, con charangas, corridas de toros y orquestas). * San Miguel El 29 de septiembre (festividad de San Miguel) se celebran las fiestas en honor de la Patrona "la Virgen de la Peña" (cuya iglesia esta situada encima de una de las Hoces más espectaculares del Duratón).
