Colombia: Abortos, muertes y niñas violadas por las FARC
BackDrásticas medidas que incluyen hasta la muerte considera la guerrilla de las Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia (FARC) a sus miembros cuando no acatan sus normas que prohíben el embarazo y la presencia de niños muy pequeños en sus filas. Jorge Enrique Botero en su libro Últimas noticias de la guerra refiere que a los guerrilleros les está prohibido tener relaciones con rehenes mujeres, situación que sí ocurrió con Clara Rojas y uno de los guerrilleros que la custodiaba. Según la ONG Human Rights Watch, niñas que integraron las FARC contaron que comandantes varones usan su poder para violar a muchachas menores. La guerrilla exige el uso de anticonceptivos a las guerrilleras de hasta 12 años, y las que quedan embarazadas deben abortar. Quienes no acaten estas disposiciones sufren un "consejo de guerra", que pocas veces autoriza el nacimiento de un niño y si lo permite, impone la condición de que el bebé deberá vivir con los familiares de uno de sus progenitores y estos no podrán convivir con ellos. En estos "consejos de guerra" se somete a votación si deben morir aquellos que cometieron aquellas faltas, según ellos. Los niños que intentan regresar con sus familias corren el riesgo de ser ejecutados. El argumento ante estas disposiciones parte de los problemas que representa criar a un niño en plena guerra. El ministro de Defensa de Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos, narró que un líder de esta guerrilla reconoció haber obligado a muchas niñas a tomar Cytotec (un producto que interrumpe el embarazo) o las obligaba a sufrir una castración médica y la ablación del útero.
