SCHEME/JAAD - SING SOME REGGAE - GOVAN 2007- TG CONNELL

Back

live in govan (Pierce Institute)to highlight the solidarity of ordinary folk through music at the time of the 'G8' Summit in Glen /Eagles 2008. This song from JAAD/SCHEME is one of many classics captured that night. Scheme are truly one of Glasgows greatest talents and should have went further - Reasons are debateable . . . FilmedDirected By - TG Connell/Mike Doyle/K.A Dunn. Scheme are a band from Easterhouse and had a massive following in Glasgow in the political Eighties at the time of Margaret Thatcher and the turmoil of the privitiseation/closure of the miners pitt collerries and general financial upheaval of the National Health Service etc. Maybe Scheme where to close to the political bone for the main-stream music industry at the time. The band have went through many members and name changes over the years(ex-frontman RAB MCEWAN) - And at this gig they where known as JAAD. Check out 'Scheme Songs' or 'JAAD' on www.myspace.com I Thought it would be nice to add an aged filter to the footage as the building was old and looked asthetically like the scene from other classic films,(BEING A BIG FAN OF OLD MOVIES/HORROR ETC) so maybe it works? maybe it does'nt but thats what ive done. . . Enjoy - Tosh mckaper.
