Back会話中にルイの手が物語る、彼の心境とはいったいどんなものだったのでしょうか。 長大な三部作で語られる物語の中で、もっとも優しく切ない悲話を紹介させていただきます。 モノリスソフト様に敬意をこめて。 本映像にいたるあらすじ 一作目の物語の序盤、不慮の事故であえなく死亡した軍人ルイ（ルイス・バージル）。彼はレアリエンを殺し、食い、蔑んで、世界さえも憎む鬼だった。残虐非道の彼はテスタメント（外套者）の一員として蘇えり、世界の陰で暗躍する。 それは生きて貫かんとする想いあるがゆえだった。 一作目から主人公（シオン）を導いて来たレアリエン（合成人間）、フェブ（フェブロニア）の思念体。聖母のような愛情でレアリエンたちの苦悩 を代弁し、彼らを解放せんと訴え続けるフェブの心の底には、一人の女としての切実な想いがあった。 二人は、レアリエンの暴走によってフェブが命を落とした惨劇の場所で再会を果たす。しかし愛する者を否定し、おのれを黙殺して生きてきたルイ はフェブのなきがらに背を向けて毒づく。そして握り締めたこぶしを胸に隠した。 以下、ネタバレにつきご注意を かつて敵国へ潜入し重傷を負ったルイは、敵であり、レアリエンであるフェブの生体臓器移植によって救われます。はじめは激怒していた彼ですが、ヒト以上に人間らしい彼女の優しさに心惹かれていきます。 しかし穏やかな時をすごす最中、事件は起きました。 惑星規模での戦闘用レアリエン一斉暴走。彼らは何らかの要因で凶暴化し、暴徒となって破壊を始めます。そしてルイとフェブが隠れた教会にも暴徒は押し寄せ、フェブはルイの目の前で惨殺されてしまったのでした。 レアリエンの生体部品からは特殊な麻薬物質を抽出することができます。これを好んでレアリエンの遺体を食す兵士たちがおり、中毒ともなると全身の皮膚に異常が発生します。 ルイの顔のただれは当初、蛮行の果ての中毒症状と思われていましたが、このエピソードの中で、フェブの生体臓器移植に起因しているものだった ことが判明します。 消えない傷。消したくない傷。それは彼にとって絆の証でもあったのでしょうか。
